Lactic acid (AHA) is best suited for dull, dry, and moisture-losing skin. It cleanses the skin of dead cells, allowing new, fresher, and smoother skin cells to emerge while moisturizing the skin. At higher concentrations (starting from 10%), it improves skin elasticity, thickness, and has wrinkle-preventing effects. It has a larger molecule than PHA acid, so it is more superficial and does not penetrate as deeply, but still offers a good exfoliating effect. Because it does not penetrate as deeply, it is also suitable for sensitive and easily irritated skin. Combining AHA and PHA acids (or even BHA acids) in the same product leads to a much more intense effect.
